Abstract

The article presents the structure of energy sources supplied to distribution network by four branches of Tauron Dystrybucja S.A. company, located in Lower Silesia, with special consideration of the energy obtained from renewable sources. The highest share of green energy production belonged to hydro plants, wind farms and, subsequently, to biogas power plants. As far as the biggest Wrocław branch of Tauron is concerned, the most important renewable source of energy in the years 2009-2011 proved to be multi – firing. It is generally believed that in the current system of green energy production support, based on tradeable green certificates, multi – firing has dominated renewable energy production in Poland. The authors also attempted to determine the degree to which correction factor for green certificates, tenable for electrical energy produced in the process of co – incineration, introduced by the legislator in the new Renewable Energy Sources Act, can affect on the share of energy produced from alternative sources of energy in total amount of energy supplied to the distribution network.
