Abstract

The aim of the study is to determine the impact of these conditions on the transformation of cooperative banking in Poland and development challenges facing the sector. There have been characteristics of transformation of the cooperative banking sector, its share in the banking system and financial condition in 2004-2013. Poland is 10 years a member of the European Union, which has an impact on the functioning of the cooperative banking sector. Law applicable in Poland has increasingly source in Brussels, in addition to post-accession period there was a strong increase in competition in the banking market.
