Some aspects as traceability and identification, sustainable agriculture, information integration, Codex Alimentarius, among others are all considered. Bibliographical and documental researches were conducted in academic data banks and also participation in international congresses and seminars related to the theme. The conclusions indicate the importance of IAPS’s development in Brazil, as well as the difficulties of developing and implementing this system. It was also concluded that IAPS, which was considerably applied to Fruit Integrated Production, enables the sustainable development, health product quality increment using less chemical products.
