La Lucha Por Las Tierras De Sutiaba En La Década De 1950: Memorias De Mujeres Que Integraron La Primera Junta Directiva Femenina De La Comunidad Indígena De Sutiaba

Abstract

A partir de los años 50 del siglo pasado los terratenientes leoneses, buscando terreno para cultivar algodón de manera intensiva, empezaron a apropiarse de las tierras de las comunidades indígenas de Sutiaba. Cuando los indígenas perdieron gran parte de sus tierras y ríos, rescataron su estructura organizativa ancestral para luchar por sus derechos a sus tierras, resultando en la formación de la “Comunidad Indígena de “Sutiaba” en 1954. Dos días después de que se formara la Junta Directiva Masculina se constituyó la Junta Directiva Femenina, integrada por 14 mujeres. Este artículo trata de analizar la participación femenina en esta lucha por las tierras teniendo como fuentes; el Libro de Actas desde el año 1954 al 1955 de la Junta Directiva y los testimonios de mujeres que pertenecían a esta primera Junta Directiva femenina. Así se pretende valorar la participación de la mujer en la década de los 50 cuando se dieron las luchas más intensas entre la Comunidad Indígena de Sutiaba y el gobierno local y Nacional y conocer las motivaciones, los propósitos y las actividades de esta primera junta femenina.
