Riches des campagnes, riches des villes. Les patrimoines ruraux et urbains en France entre 1820 et 1939

Abstract

Comment les changements structurels intervenus depuis le 19° siècle se sont-ils traduits sur les patrimoines individuels des Français? La mobilisation d'une source historique permettant de suivre ces évolutions de patrimoine montre que les inégalités de patrimoine sont tirées en France par les évolutions de la distribution interne au monde rural, même si l'urbanisation qui a lieu à cette époque a des effets visibles. En zones rurales, comme en moyenne française, la diminution de la part de la population possédant un patrimoine touche principalement les petits possédants, accroissant éainsi les écarts de patrimoine.
