Abstract

Face au recul massif de l'emploi agricole, l'industrie représente désormais une part importante de l'emploi en zone non urbaine. Au-delà, il convient désormais de distinguer un espace périurbain/rural sous influence d'un espace rural-autonome. Dans le premier, l'évolution très favorable de l'emploi s'explique notamment par un transfert d'activités depuis des zones urbaines pénalisées par l'existence de forces de congestion. Dans le second, le dynamisme attaché à un certain nombre de secteurs (IAA, Construction…) peut s'expliquer par la présence d'actifs spécifiques à ce type d'espace, au tout premier rang desquels figure une main d'oeuvre de "qualité".
