Abstract

Though the share of agriculture has reduced with increasing shares of industry and services in her state income over the years, its importance cannot be underestimated in the process of economic growth of Manipur. With the absence of large scale industries in the state, agriculture has a lot to offer to the development of industry in the state. It is in this background that the writer feels the necessity of analysing the agriculture-industry linkage in the state. The main purpose of the present paper is to highlight the agriculture scenario and its implication on industrial growth and so on economic growth in the state from the period 2011 to 2018. For this, the NSDP data of the state provided by the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation has been mainly used in the present analysis. Some policy recommendations are also made on the basis of the analysis.
