Beobachtbare Milchauszahlungspreise: Chance für Milcherzeuger – Risiko für Endverbraucher

Abstract

Ob beobachtbare Milchauszahlungspreise die wirtschaftliche Situation von Milcherzeugern eher verbessern oder verschlechtern, ist strittig. Anhand eines spieltheoretischen Modells zeigen wir, dass beobachtbare Milchauszahlungspreise wettbewerbsbeschränkend und gewinnerhöhend für Molkereien sein können, falls die Konzentrationstendenz im Bereich der Molkereien anhält. Während beobachtbare Milchauszahlungspreise für Milcherzeuger eine Chance auf eine höhere Produzentenrente bieten, bergen sie für Endverbraucher ein Risiko auf eine niedrigere Konsumentenrente. Wir argumentieren insbesondere mit der Organisationsform der Genossenschaft, weil sie im Bereich der Molkereien vorherrschend ist. Unsere Argumentation lässt sich auf andere Organisationsformen im Bereich der Molkereien übertragen, weil durch langfristige Verträge ähnliche Organisationsstrukturen geschaffen werden.
