Abstract

----------------- Development in the field of concentration and vertical integration is an essential characteristic of poultry industry both in EU and Hungary. In consequence of these processes transformation, which is taking place also at present, is expected to accelerate in the poultry sector of Hungary. It can also be expected that a production structure similar to that of the European Union will come into being in this country within a short time. This process is generated by the present income and capital situation of the sector, and by the recognition of the necessity of vertical co-ordination. Taking the European level of concentration and vertical integration as a basis structural changes can be forecast Hungarian poultry industry will have to undergo inevitably in subsequent years.
