Kırsalda Yaban Domuzu Varlığının Üreticinin Buğday Çeşit Seçimine Etkisi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, Türkiye’nin Orta Anadolu ve Batı Geçit Bölgesinde yer alan Ankara, Kayseri, Yozgat, Çankırı, Kırıkkale, Eskişehir ve Afyonkarahisar illerinde buğday üretimi yapan tarım işletmelerinde, yaban domuzu varlığının ve zararının, üreticilerin buğday çeşit tercihleri üzerindeki etkisi araştırılmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında kartopu örnekleme metodu ile seçilen toplam 564 üretici ile anket yapılmış ve üreticilerin %65.6’sı köylerinde yaban domuzu bulunduğunu, kılçıklı buğday yetiştiren üreticilerin %80.8’i domuz zararı nedeniyle kılçıklı buğday tercih ettiklerini ifade etmişlerdir. Araştırma sonucunda çeşit tercihini belirleyen en önemli faktörün domuz zararı olduğu belirlenmiştir. Yaban domuzlarının kılçıklı buğdaya oranla kılçıksız buğdaya daha fazla zarar verdiği bilinmektedir. Yaban hayvanlarının yaşam alanlarının azalması insan ve yaban hayvanı karşılaşmalarını ve çıkar çatışmalarını giderek artırmaktadır. Bu çatışma uzun yıllardır devam etmesine rağmen net çözümler getirilemediğinden, üreticiler bireysel çözümlerle zararı azaltma yoluna gitmektedirler. Ancak kılçıklı buğday tercihi gibi kültürel yöntemler de sorunun çözümü için yetersiz kalmaktadır. Öncelikle bölgelerde yaban domuzu popülasyonunun belirlenmesi, yaban domuzu zararının ekonomik boyutunun tespiti, zararın olduğu tarım alanlarında yaban hayatı yönetim stratejilerinin uygulanması önem taşımaktadır.
