Abstract

This article, through the study of the taxation of oil crushers emissions in the Alpes-Maritimes, is analyzing the compatibility between, the land planning policies on one hand, whose aim is to avoid the desertification of rural and natural areas, and on the other hand, the environmental policies concerning the preservation of the aquatic ecosystems. Moreover, this analysis integrates the cross-border dimension and the negative results of the taxation, in terms of olive growers' drain towards Italy and the province of Imperia. The author will try to bring up a picture of the taxation effects over all the olive growing sector, underlying the powerful links between production and processing sectors and will wonder about the future of this traditional activity in the Alpes-Maritimes.
