Abstract

Purpose. The purpose of the article is a methodological substantiation of the problem of economic modernization and business development of livestock industry. Methodology / approach. The theoretical and methodological basis of the study was the dialectical method of cognition of economic processes, fundamental provisions of modern economic theory, scientific works of domestic and foreign scientists, related to the study of the economic nature and content of relations between the subjects of the livestock products market. The methodological basis of the study was those functional provisions that comprehensively highlighted the need for economic modernization and effective development of livestock in the face of scarcity of financial resources. The problem of the need for economic modernization and predicting the effective development of animal husbandry was investigated using a number of methods (correlation-regression, scenario planning, selective sociological research, mathematical modeling of economic processes, forecasting), which are aimed at identifying ways and mechanisms of knowledge of reality. This made it possible to substantiate changes in livestock production, composition of the genetic potential of animals and their productivity, to identify factors that hinder the changing economic, social, political and environmental conditions in the livestock industry to innovate its development through the implementation of modern technologies. Using the regression analysis, the relationship between the phenomena (the numerical values of each observation result in the time series) was analyzed analytically in the form of mathematical functions. Results. The peculiarities of application of the proposed methods and methodological approaches made it possible to take into account the main components of modernization transformations in livestock enterprises for the detection of changes in the genetic potential, animal productivity, production of livestock products, the implementation of modern technologies, farm machinery and equipment and to forecast the development of livestock industry. The result of the implementation of the methodological approach to the development strategy of the livestock industry is the proposed list of strategic development scenarios, which creates opportunities for the implementation of the objectives of its development and outlines a problematic field for economic modernization. Originality / scientific novelty. The article presents, for the first time, the results of the study that substantiate the feasibility of forming an information base and the study of dynamic changes in economic indicators of livestock development using an analytical approach in the study of problems of further development of the livestock industry, which, unlike existing ones, takes into account the influence of random variables that do not occur risky situations of the environment. Practical value / implications. The use of the proposed models and methods and the integrated systematic approach for the research of problems of regional modernization transformations allows to ensure the implementation of the process of modernization itself, forecasting the development and use of technologies; to assess the specific nature of the scientific and technological direction, the level of economic and social measures for the introduction of new technologies; focus on a number of issues that have not yet been resolved for the sake of future benchmarks for businesses and their industries in a particular region.
