Abstract

A commentary presents the following leadership lessons gleaned from the Hollywood vision of being the boss: 1. Management-by-wandering-about is a good thing. 2. Learning about technology gives banking executives a competitive edge. 3. Being a change agent is the most difficult - but essential - of roles. 4. Hire people smarter than you. 5. Be compassionate with employees, follow good human resource protocols, but also have the courage to let people go if they are blocking success.
