Abstract

The European officials have recently identified a relatively low level of entrepreneurship in the European countries comparing with others regions of the world. Dealing with the Lisbon objectives (for example, increasing the EU competitiveness), European's authorities have recommended a set of economic policies in order to increase competition and stimulate entrepreneurs. Obviously, the large majority of these policies are related to SMEs, as they represent about 99% in the total of European firms. The aim of this paper is to analyze the legislation that Romanian authorities have adopted in order to meet the EU expectations in this field.
