Abstract

Brazil experienced between 2003 and 2014 a significant increase of 52% in exports and, trying to understand the effects that this activity has on the country, the present article seeks to test the hypothesis: the Brazilian economy sustained by the export of agricultural products, generating jobs and fighting poverty. Thus, two approaches will work out: Rowthorn’s Wage Led, with tests based on the data collected in Pnad and Alice Web, using the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) and another one of the Capacities, for the understanding of motivating elements in a context of multidimensional poverty.
