Abstract

The petrochemical industry has in hydrocarbons derived from petroleum and natural gas its primary source of raw materials. Knowing that the constituent chains of each segment of industrial activity have distinct characteristics, often stemming from the need to produce ever more efficient, the objective of this work is to verify some particularities of the inputs used in the production of vinyl monochloride Braskem S. A., and thus from the analysis of two distinct econometric modeling, containing inputs with greater specificity and integrated with the business and other assets with low specificity and produced extra firm, to validate the hypothesis that the more specific are the assets are greater incentives for integration of these processes due to the need to make them technically more efficient and economies of scale in production.
