Abstract

The paper emphasizes the importance of green finance in financing sustainable agriculture in South Africa, comparing it to similar taxonomies in the European Union and other countries. It highlights the need for clear definitions, regulatory frameworks, and incentives for investors and financial institutions. However, challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and external factors must be addressed. Collaboration among stakeholders, raising awareness, standardizing definitions, and incentivizing sustainable investments are crucial for successfully implementing green finance initiatives.
