Implementing the Quality Management System in the Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest

Abstract

A strategic goal of the Academy of Economic Studies Bucharest is represented by the continuous improving of the quality for the didactic and scientific research activities. To this purpose a special importance should be given to the process approach of the activities by integrating the activities the students are involved in at the university activity, starting by defining the demands related to the management, identifying and providing the necessary resources, developing the activities to the assessment and analysis of the results. This is the point of view of the strategy of the European Union politics in the field of quality, the orientation of the new international standards ISO 9000 concerning the Quality Management System. That’s why the Academy of Economic Studies thought about implementing a Quality Management System which could fulfil the demands defined by the above-mentioned standards. The article presents the main steps for implementing the Quality Management System in the Academy of Economic Studies, the pattern of the process approach for the activities and also some strategic and operational aspects of this approach.
