Abstract

Volunteering is a way of self – development and possibility to use your creative potential. Volunteering helps people to find new friends, to open new horizons and perhaps discover something interesting according to their passions. Through this research the authors have proposed to reflect the history of volunteering. Also, they identified the main definitions of ,,volunteering’’, consulting the literature. In general, the authors emphasized volunteering in Europe and clear policies and programmes of volunteering. A special focus on the paper was to analyze how did the volunteering phenomenon could be developed in Republic of Moldova and main volunteer organizations which do their activity in our country.
