Existence des équilibres de Cournot: un tour d'horizon

Abstract

This paper surveys results on existence of a Cournot equilibrium in a partial equilibrium framework, with a particular attention to recent research on large markets. The literature offers a large number of formulations. We do not cover all of them, but we think that the strong cases we study give a correct idea of the results and the methods of proof. These methods use fixed-point theorems for noncontinuous mappings or nonconvex-valued correspondences; they are expounded in appendix.
