Ural Region As A Basis For Recovery Of Rare-Earth Industry Of Russia

Abstract

The raw material base of rare-earth metal of regions ofRussiais evaluated in the paper. The set of conditions, that allow to create a rare-earth cluster on the basis of the Ural region, which could become the basis for the sustainable development of rare earth industry of the country, is considered. The market of rare-earth metal is analyzed in the paper, the place ofChinain the production and sale rare-earth metal is defined. The causes of the protectionist policies ofChinaand directly arrangements, which are made, are investigated. The author has analyzed the dynamics of prices for all rare earth metals traded in the market over the last 10 years and has commented on the significant fluctuations in prices. We have considered the policies of consuming countries of rare earth raw materials in the conditions of shortage of rare-earth metal on the international market; have described activities undertaken by States to ensure rare earth resources.
