Abstract

Russia’s “Turn to the East†, initiated by Russia, reflects the country’s sustained focus on strengthening ties with the Asia-Pacific region (APR), creating new opportunities for mutually beneficial energy cooperation. In the context of global changes in energy markets and growing demand for environmentally friendly resources, cooperation between Russia and the Asia-Pacific countries is gaining strategic importance. Key areas of collaboration include large-scale infrastructure projects such as the «Power of Siberia» gas pipeline and prospective routes through Mongolia, alongside the development of LNG terminals and hydrogen energy. Tho initiatives not only strengthen regional energy security but also foster technological exchange and foreign investment. However, successful implementation of joint projects requires coordinated approaches, overcoming competition and adaptation to new political, economic conditions and environmental standards. In the long term, energy cooperation between Russia and APR could lay the foundation for deeper economic integration and sustainable development.
