Scientific and Pedagogical School on the World History of Managerial Thought as a key element in the system of effective interaction of the university with the student audience, faculty and scientific community (on the 30th anniversary of the RSUH Department of Management)

Abstract

The article considers the experience of the scientific and pedagogical school on the world history of managerial thought, which is operated at the Department of Management of the Russian State University for the Humanities. The authors note an important distinctive feature of the Russian State University, that allows it being classified as a so-called “research type†, which generate scientific knowledge and a practical component in the educational process in accordance with the models of Wilhelm von Humboldt and John Dewey. The article reveals the significance of those two important components, demonstrates how combining them with each other allows getting a more enhanced cumulative effect and solving various tasks: preparing students for independent research, developing the potential of the teaching staff, sharing experience with the scientific community. The authors analyze the main stages through which the school on the world history of managerial thought has passed, cite the most significant publications of its participants, give them an objective assessment in the light of the current state of professional management, note the importance of using new creatively organized forms in education, which is especially relevant in the context of its further reform.
