Abstract

We chose an academic career out of a calling — the desire to create and share knowledge and to contribute to the development of others. Against this backdrop, the persistent difficulty in finding reviewers willing to support the editorial process is both surprising and troubling. The pressures of academic life — heavy teaching loads, the demand for productivity on multiple fronts, and the lack of recognition for reviewing — seem to be pulling us away from that original purpose...
