Follow-up-Studie: Gendertypische Verhandlungskompetenz und ihre Auswirkungen auf Gehalts- und Aufstiegsverhandlungen

Abstract

Die Autorinnen haben zwischen 2006 und 2009 untersucht, welche Rolle die geschlechtstypische Verhandlungskompetenz von Frauen für ihren Aufstieg und das erzielte Gehalt spielt (Ruppert/Voigt 2009). 2017 überprüften sie in einer Follow-up-Studie mit dem gleichen methodischen Design, inwieweit die damals erzielten Ergebnisse noch aktuell sind. Es zeigt sich, dass zehn Jahre nach Durchführung der Ursprungsstudie das meiste beim Alten geblieben ist: Männer haben zum Verhandeln generell eine deutlich positivere Einstellung; Frauen gehen öfter nervös und ängstlich in Gehaltsverhandlungen. Beide Geschlechter investieren nicht viel in die Vorbereitung der Verhandlungen. Und am Ende ist wiederum festzuhalten: Männer erzielen signifikant bessere Ergebnisse.
