Abstract

Start-ups are now well-known even if the term itself seems to be ambiguous. « To start-up » means initially to begin a new business whereas in practice it deals mainly with an innovative company which still attracts individuals and investors. How do these companies operate? What are their distinctive characteristics? This article attempts to define and to typify their organizational features by building their idealtype. As startups have been emerging in a changing context, they might reveal new proposals for the organization of work.
