Abstract

Working paper, comparison of the balance of payments, economic growth and employment in Egypt and Turkey - considers relevant development economics issues and economic theories; covers economic structure, labour force participation, the economic role of the public sector, wages, savings and investment, trends in the emigration of local level workers, etc.; examines developments in foreign exchange earnings due to export earnings, remittances, tourism and foreign investment. References, statistical tables.
