Calidad de la educación y rendimiento académico en Bogotá

Abstract

"Este trabajo estudia los efectos del entorno familiar y las características del plantel sobre el rendimiento escolar en Bogotá con base en los resultados de las pruebas del lcfes para el ano y 1999. Tres conclusiones principales se desprenden del trabajo. La educación de los padres tiene un efecto sustancial sobre el rendimiento académico, el efecto de la educación de los padres se transmite principalmente a través de la calidad de los planteles educativos, y la incidencia de los planteles sobre el rendimiento supera la incidencia conjunta de las características familiares y es mayor que la observada en otros países."
