Abstract

Der vorliegende neunte WIFO-Bericht über Schlüsselindikatoren zu Energiewirtschaft und Klimawandel analysiert die Entwicklung des Energieeinsatzes und den Fortschritt in der Entkoppelung von Treibhausgasemissionen und Wirtschaftswachstum im Jahr 2014. Die Treibhausgasemissionen sanken in Österreich 2014 gegenüber 2013 um 4,7% (CO2-Emissionen –5,4%) auf 76,3 Mio. t CO2-Äquivalente. Der stärkste Rückgang wurde im Sektor Energieerzeugung gemessen (–14,4%). Ausschlaggebend war dafür in erster Linie der Nachfragerückgang in der Wärmeerzeugung aufgrund des sehr milden Wetters. Den größten Anteil an den Treibhausgasemissionen hatten 2014 Industrie und Gewerbe mit 34,9% sowie der Verkehrssektor mit 29,1%. Beide Sektoren weisen im Vergleich mit dem Vorjahr leichte und gegenüber 2000 deutliche Anteilszuwächse auf. Schwerpunktthema ist im vorliegenden Bericht das erste weltweite Klimaschutzabkommen, das am 12. Dezember 2015 anlässlich der UNO-Konferenz in Paris unterzeichnet wurde.
