WIFO-Weißbuch: Exporte als Wachstumsmotor. Maßnahmen zur weiteren Belebung der Ausfuhr

Abstract

Die weltweite Globalisierung sowie die europäische Integration haben die Internationalisierung der österreichischen Wirtschaft stark vorangetrieben. Der Export war in den letzten zehn Jahren zumeist der wichtigste Motor der Wirtschaftsentwicklung in Österreich. Dazu trug die zunehmende Verflechtung durch Direktinvestitionen maßgeblich bei. Schwachstellen der Exportwirtschaft sind aus einer längerfristigen Perspektive die zu hohe Konzentration auf mittlere Technologien sowie der Rückstand im Bereich der modernen, wissensintensiven Dienstleistungen. Die Beseitigung dieser Defizite ist für künftige Exporterfolge unverzichtbar.
