Internationale Forschungsaufträge und die Dynamik der Forschungsbeschäftigung in Österreich

Abstract

Obwohl die österreichische Sachgütererzeugung in der zweiten Hälfte der neunziger Jahre ihre Zukäufe von Forschungs- und Entwicklungsdienstleistungen aus dem Ausland ausweitete, wur-den in Österreich keine Innovationskapazitäten substituiert. Sowohl die Auftragsforschung als auch die Beschäftigung in Forschung und Entwicklung erhöhten sich. Um mögliche Qualitäts-einbußen des Forschungsstandortes – und in der Folge nachhaltige Wettbewerbsnachteile – zu vermeiden, muss Österreich in die Weiterentwicklung der Innovationsfähigkeit investieren. Als Maßnahmen eignen sich etwa Investitionen in die Bildung oder die Erleichterung von Techno-logietransfers durch eine verstärkte Einbindung in internationale Innovationssysteme.
