Abstract

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh pusingan kerja terhadap tempoh kenaikan pangkat dan kadar upah. Data yang digunakan dalam kajian ini diperoleh daripada Tentera Laut Diraja Malaysia bagi tahun 2017 yang melibatkan 1686 pegawai terdiri daripada pelbagai pangkat. Kajian ini menggunakan regresi upah Mincer dan dapatan menunjukkan pusingan kerja yang kerap tidak membantu perkembangan kerjaya pegawai angkatan tentera dalam aspek mempercepatkan tempoh kenaikan pangkat. Sebaliknya, tahap kekananan dan latihan yang mantap menjadi faktor mempercepatkan perkembangan kerjaya pegawai angkatan tentera tanpa perlu melalui proses pusingan kerja yang kerap. Pusingan kerja dapat membantu perkembangan kerjaya jika pelaksanaan pusingan kerja dirancang berbeza mengikut pangkat atau tahap pendidikan setiap pegawai. Pusingan kerja yang terancang dan sesuai dengan keperluan perjawatan seorang pegawai dapat memberi latihan dan pengalaman yang sangat relevan dan berguna bagi perkembangan kerjaya pegawai pada masa hadapan.
