Влияет Ли Название На Рыночную Дисциплину: Пример Иностранных Банков В России

Abstract

В данной работе изучается рыночная дисциплина со стороны вкладчиков российских банков со 100-процентным участием нерезидентов в уставном капитале. Мы анализируем влияние сигнала об иностранном происхождении в названии банка на чувствительность прироста вкладов (количественная дисциплина) и процентных ставок (ценовая дисциплина) к рискам банков. Мы предполагаем, что банки, содержащие в названии прямое указание на то, что собственником является иностранная финансовая компания, будут пользоваться большим доверием вкладчиков и менее интенсивным рыночным дисциплинированием, и этот эффект сохранится и в кризис. Альтернативной стала гипотеза потребительского этноцентризма, предполагающая, что сигнал об иностранной собственности станет для вкладчиков стимулом для мониторинга. Мы используем данные по 56 банкам за 2007-2015 гг. Результаты свидетельствуют о том, что если вкладчик по названию может сделать вывод о том, что банк иностранный, он демонстрирует б о льшую чувствительность к снижению достаточности капитала и увеличению кредитного риска, что воплощается в снижении темпов прироста вкладов и увеличении процентной ставки. Таким образом, для рынка вкладов характерны признаки потребительского этноцентризма. Различия в чувствительности к риску вкладчиков банков с иностранным названием и банков, не относящихся к таковым, осталось неизменным в период финансового кризиса для количественной дисциплины. Этот результат немаловажен ввиду того, что в этот период наблюдался переток вкладов из национальных частных банков в государственные и иностранные. Мы также наблюдаем снижение интенсивности ценового дисциплинирования в период кризиса для обеих групп иностранных банков.
