Abstract

[eng] Demand analysis, the hidden side of joint production . G. Abraham-Frois, E. Bebrebi. « Economic Joint Production » as defined in this article places emphasis upon the problem of production-price positivity and supply-demand adequacy. In the case of single-product branches, only production price positivity is usually discussed because supply can always be adjusted to demand. After having proved that such is not thé case with joint production, particular emphasis is placed on the two-sector models proposed by Manara and Steedman ; the role of demand structure is then studied. Hence it is demonstrated that the labour vector structure plays a central role for production prices to be positive.
