L?impatto di internet nel settore dei giochi pubblici in Italia e i modelli di business degli operatori on line: il caso Microgame

Abstract

Negli ultimi anni il settore dei giochi pubblici in Italia ? interessato da una crescita molto sostenuta che ha portato la raccolta di gioco a incidere, nel 2011, per il 5 per cento sul Pil nazionale. Alla crescita del settore ha contribuito la regolamentazione dell?offerta di gioco via internet emanata dal legislatore nel 2006. L?utilizzo di internet quale canale diretto di distribuzione sta provocando un mutamento delle dinamiche competitive del settore ed ha determinato la nascita di un nuovo segmento di business, quello dei giochi pubblici on line. Obiettivo del lavoro ? analizzare l?impatto che le tecnologie di comunicazione internet based stanno avendo sulla crescita e la riconfigurazione del settore dei giochi pubblici con vincite in denaro in Italia, approfondendo in particolare lo studio dei modelli di business adottati dalle imprese specializzate nel nuovo segmento dei giochi on line. Dal punto di vista metodologico ? utilizzato il metodo dei casi. L?impresa oggetto di analisi ? la Microgame, una delle aziende leader nel mercato italiano dei giochi pubblici a distanza.
