Determinants of advanced booking

Abstract

•A count model for the determinants of hotel advance booking is proposed.•Prices have a decreasing effect that is less than proportional.•Long stays at holiday homes increase the days of advanced booking.•Booking in July and August, as well as large party size, imply longer anticipation.•Reservations through DMO channels are related to longer advanced booking.
