    Abstract

This document seeks evidence on the determinants of the quality of education in Colombia through the study of the PISA 2006 results.Based on econometric analysis we find that the physical resources of the school, the curriculum or academic content and skills ofteachers are positive determinants of test results. We also find that greater ownership of educational resources at home, as well as thecommitment and interest of students in science and mathematics, is related to better performance. Finally, the results are analyzed inlight of the sector plan for the period 2002-2010 called "Educational Revolution."
