Abstract

On 25 October 2001 the Ifo Institute, in collaboration with the Chamber of Industry and Commerce for Munich and Upper Bavaria and assisted by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, conducted its first Industry Sector Colloquium for 2001 in Munich. The newly designed industry colloquium has the task of continuing the traditional Ifo Business Cycle Colloquiums and the Ifo Construction Colloquiums in a different format, with the inclusion of the areas of commerce and the services. At the October Colloquium more than 250 participants attended. The positive response was encouraging and plans are already underway for the Industry Sector Colloquium in 2002.
