Ostdeutsche Industrie : Produktionsanstieg verlangsamt sich, Verlustabbau gerät ins Stocken, Beschäftigung wieder leicht rückläufig

Abstract

Die Wachstumsschere zwischen alten und neuen Bundesländern hat sich 1998 weiter geöffnet. Während das reale Bruttoinlandsprodunkt (BIP) in den alten Ländern um 2,8% gestiegen ist (nach 2,3% im Jahr 1997), fiel der Zuwachs in den neuen Bundesländern mit einer Beschleunigung von 1,7% auf 2,0% erneut schwächer aus. Die gesamtwirtschaftliche Produktion in den neuen Ländern wuchs damit zum zweiten Mal hintereinander langsamer als im früheren Bundesgebiet. So erreichte der Zuwachs im Osten 1994 rund 9,6%, im Westen 2,1%.
