Abstract

Rapid technological development in the field of software and technology will enable self-driving companies in 2035. These autonomous organizations are characterized by the complete automation of all supporting and producing processes. Software systems in large companies are in use for an average of 15–20 years. Every professional and technical decision in the field of digitization, no matter how small, contributes to the vision of the self- driving company. In this chapter, the future corporate areas of market and customers, interaction with suppliers and partners, value creation, finance, and organization will be described along with the changes they will undergo. The new roles and tasks of customers, partners, owners, and staff will be explored. Self-driving organizations do not have classic end-to-end processes, but algorithms make decisions continuously based on data. This transformation is described and the resulting organizational form explained.
