Abstract

In the military sector, AI is used for surveillance and reconnaissance, where it analyzes large amounts of data to identify relevant information and patterns. AI also drives the development of autonomous systems that can be used for surveillance, reconnaissance, transport, and combat tasks. Furthermore, AI is applied in cybersecurity to detect and respond to network anomalies and network attacks. Even in military logistics and maintenance, significant efficiency gains can be achieved through AI solutions. To advance the use of artificial intelligence in weapon technology, countries like China, Great Britain, Israel, Russia, South Korea, and the USA invest billions every year. If serious threats to humanity from artificial intelligence are to be expected, this is probably most likely in this area. The use of AI in the military sector has significant potential to revolutionize the way military operations are conducted today and in the future.
