Case studies

This chapter is dedicated to the empirical analysis of the data collected through the Multiple Case Study method [Stake (Multiple case study analysis. Guilford Press, 2013)], to draw managerial implications from the results [Sicca (La gestione strategica dell’impresa. Concetti e strumenti. Editore. CEDAM, 1998)]. The analysis of the different case studies examined provides an in-depth understanding of the dynamics that influence, highlighting both common practices and differences between the various contexts. By comparing the characteristics and results of the cases, the chapter intends to offer an overview of the main managerial guidelines that emerge from these data, focusing on the most effective strategic decisions and operational approaches. The analysis is not limited to a simple description of the cases but aims to provide practical recommendations that can guide managers in managing similar situations and optimising resources and results. In particular, the chapter will explore how the practices adopted by the different case studies can be adapted and implemented in different contexts, offering practical solutions to improve the efficiency, competitiveness, and sustainability of organisations. This chapter has 18 cases (see Table 1), each representing a company that has developed a resilient business model in response to global challenges and a context of continuous innovation. Each case presents unique characteristics that offer insights into how companies can address contemporary challenges and create a sustainable future.
