Abstract

Contemporary corporate communication is consistent across stakeholders, dialog-oriented, and data-based. It participates in social discourse, creates added value for addressees—and uses digitalization and AI to meet the increasing demands on its performance despite scarce resources. This requires tools for a wide range of applications: from data analysis and editorial tools to the complete automation of standardized communication processes. The range of such tools is growing by the day and is already confusing in some areas. A printed overview of the available products and services would already be out of date on the day of publication. In addition, the CommTech working group is committed to the principle of freedom of interest, which would have required a complete overview of the available offerings. Instead of formulating a list of countless solutions in an extremely segmented market, the authors of this chapter make a proposal for a “specification sheet” from communicators to developers of future CommTech tools. The authors are aware of the great importance of AI and its impact on various areas. They have therefore decided to devote a separate chapter to this topic. The following points will therefore focus primarily on the other fundamental aspects of the aforementioned “specifications.” The docking points for generative artificial intelligence are almost endless.
