This chapter examines the vulnerabilities inherent in the Web3 ecosystem, particularly focusing on the risks arising from the reliance on third-party open-source libraries and frameworks, as well as external service providers. Through detailed case studies, the chapter highlights how these vulnerabilities can be exploited, causing significant disruptions in the Web3 ecosystems. The chapter provides valuable insights into the potential risks and offers strategies for mitigating these challenges, aiming to foster more secure software development and risk management practices within the Web3 ecosystem.
