Abstract

Canada | Rachel has worked in the tourism industry for over 25 years. She has worked with stakeholders including NGOs, governments, destinations and the industry to move forward on sustainable tourism issues. Rachel has published over 60 journal articles and three books including a recent book on overtourism. Rachel is passionate about helping the tourism industry become more sustainable. She is the Director of Sustaining Tourism, a boutique consultancy, and a Professor at Ryerson University in Canada. Rachel has travelled to over 80 countries and lived on 4 continents. She has worked on sustainable tourism projects around the world with governments, businesses, non-profits and community groups. Her key areas of focus are overtourism, tourism management and research into consumer behaviour.
