Abstract

Nepal | Lisa Choegyal is an international tourism marketing and product development consultant specialising in regenerative, pro-poor, sustainable and responsible tourism based in Kathmandu for nearly 50 years. With a background in the private sector, she worked for 25 years as marketing director with Tiger Tops and the Tiger Mountain group, specialising in wildlife, trekking, adventure and village tourism in South Asia. She is currently a director of the award-winning Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge. Since 1992 Lisa has undertaken consultancy roles in Nepal and throughout the Asia Pacific region, often with TRC Tourism. Clients include governments, tourism boards, development agencies, NGOs, local communities and private sector operators. Lisa is a writer and editor, regularly publishing books and articles on tourism and conservation, and experienced in production liaison for documentary and feature films. She serves on several pro-bono organisations and Boards, and since 2010 is New Zealand Honorary Consul to Nepal.
