Abstract

USA | Kelly Bricker, PhD is Professor, Director of the Hainan University-Arizona State University International Tourism College, a practitioner in ecotourism, and a consultant. She completed her PhD with Penn State University in sustainable tourism and protected area management, has experience in ecotourism, visitor and protected area management, and the impacts of tourism. Kelly has authored books on sustainability, highlighting case studies of tourism’s role in environmental and societal issues, such as Sustainable Tourism & the Millennium Development Goals: Effecting Positive Change; on adventure education in Adventure Programming and Travel for the twenty-first century, and on graduate education in De-Mystifying Theories in Tourism Research. She serves on the board of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council as Vice Chair and on the Executive Committee of the Tourism and Protected Area Specialist Group of the IUCN.
