The Global Perspective: Macro-political Considerations

Human resources management, more than most other areas of business economics, can be seen as a reflection of our times. From a macroeconomic perspective, we look at the proportion of the working population in the total population, their qualifications and income, and the corresponding job profiles. From a socio-political perspective, we also consider developments such as the dominance of certain family structures or the employment rate of women. In recent years, a further dimension has increasingly dominated the public debate: demography. The age structure of a population, its composition by origin or its birth rate are all, of course, linked to all other socio-political and contemporary historical developments. Demographic factors are slow to emerge and are long term in nature, and it is precisely these characteristics which make it difficult to influence them. Consequently, of all the factors that influence the macroeconomic perspective, they are the most sustainable.
