Abstract

“Yes, we have to take these measures immediately. Everything points to a heart attack,” explains Dr. Ruben in a calm tone via a video chat to his patient Mr. Dow. Earlier in the morning, Dr. Ruben had received a warning on his patient radar. The system alerted him to abnormalities in the data being transmitted from his patient’s chest patch. Mr. Dow has been using one since being diagnosed as an “at-risk” patient earlier that year. The system is based on an artificial intelligence application and includes a neural network that analyzes the electrocardiogram (ECG) and prepares it for review. The examination showed a conspicuous high and narrow T-curve in the ECG, which indicates an acute risk of a heart attack. Dr. Ruben reviewed the evaluation again and immediately contacted the patient. After receiving the patient approval, the system automatically notified the required contact points about the actions that needed to be taken. In this case, the proposal is to increase the oxygen and blood supply toward the myocardium by administering drugs that will cause the coronary artery to dilate. Dr. Ruben transmits the necessary patient data and ends the video chat. Chest patches, which act as an electrocardiogram, were becoming ever more popular. The information gathered is sent directly from the chest patch to the doctor’s computer, allowing doctors to monitor patients with chronic diseases.
