Abstract

Explores why frontier AI - including large-scale, multimodal, reasoning-capable and agentic systems - creates business-model opportunities that established AI frameworks do not fully capture. It contrasts frontier AI with classical AI, reviews implications for organisational and market innovation, and argues for new methods to design and assess frontier-AI-enabled business models, outlining a research agenda and illustrative configuration and value-chain archetypes.
